About Mount Wilson
Mt Wilson, the heritage garden village, is in the World Heritage Blue Mountains, only 2 hours from Sydney. Mt Wilson has magnificent natural bushland and rainforest, walks and canyons as well as historic houses and grand exotic gardens some of which are open to the public especially in Spring & Autumn or by appointment. The historic Turkish Bath Museum has regular exhibitions about the history of Mount Wilson and Mount Irvine. Go to www.mtwilson.com.au for opening times.
Mt Wilson is a peaceful Haven. There are no shops or cafes just beautiful walks and abounding nature. Bring a picnic rug and a thermos, there are lots of picnic tables and places to sit and rest and enjoy the rural beauty in this secluded secret part of the mountains
The Loft is opposite Waterfall Reserve a 15 minute walk takes you down to the waterfall - or as a guest if you are feeling tired you can sit by our creek and enjoy the sound of the water making its journey down to the waterfall.
Mt Irvine is adjacent to Mt Wilson, about 15 minutes further drive. It has a mountain rural setting of farms and fine gardens, bushland and rainforest, with magnificent views over the mountains and canyons of the Blue Mountains. Walnut and chestnut picking is also a speciality of the area in late March and early April.
Oaks and chestnuts, birches, azaleas and rhododendrons flourish at this very special retreat.
Add flowering bulbs, blossoming fruit trees, a running stream complete with little bridge leading to a private picnic area, and eight acres of garden and rolling meadows.
A beautiful photo taken by Peter Galvin who was a guest in Autumn.
